Faulty vehicle, ignored safety/fuel issues, and dismissive customer service

点评：I cannot recommend this company based on our recent experience. We partnered with them under a work-for-hire agreement to provide professional media coverage (photography, videography, and content creation). Unfortunately, both the vehicle provided and the customer service that followed fell drastically short of professional standards.
The Vehicle Issues:
We were initially given a van with severe mechanical and fuel efficiency issues. It was managing only around 200km per tank, when is should have been around 400km, forcing us to constantly stop and pay extortionate amounts for fuel. Not only this but the brake pads were nearly worn thin, squeaking and burning, and the tire thread was nearly bare to illegal standards. Recognizing that multiple things were fundamentally wrong with the vehicle, we requested a swap. The company did swap the van but refused to compensate us for the previous 10 days of hire.
Hidden Costs & Unfair Charges:
Despite the first vehicle being clearly faulty, we were hit with a $170 charge to fill the tank upon returning the replacement van. This was on top of paying a daily rental rate, premium for compulsory insurance and the excessive fuel costs caused by their poorly maintained original vehicle.
Dismissive Customer Service & Exchange Values:
When we raised these valid concerns, the company’s response was incredibly dismissive and patronising. They attempted to justify the situation by calculating our accommodation value as 'very low' compared to normal accommodation and car rental costs, completely ignoring the massive out-of-pocket expenses we incurred due to their vehicle's defects.
Furthermore, they completely devalued the professional content creation services we provided. The market rate for the high-end media assets we delivered far exceeds the "budget" accommodation value they tried to use to silence our complaints.
Conclusion:
What is most concerning is that the company has completely refused to investigate the original van’s fuel consumption and dangerous mechanical (brake, tyre thread and wheel alignment) issues. It appears they intend to simply wash their hands of the matter and rent that same faulty vehicle out to the next unsuspecting traveller.
If you are looking for a reliable vehicle and a company that treats its clients -and creators - with basic respect, look elsewhere.
