Over priced and underwhelming
The Spa at Mottram Hall的点评
点评：On arrival the receptionist was friendly as welcoming, and provided us with the bag with the gown, a very small and tatty towel, and flip flops; and vague directions to the change rooms and restaurant. The gowns are becoming quite tatty and no longer the luxurious gown when they first opened. Then we went to the change rooms, a lot of the lockers are broken and do not respond to the wrist band (receptionist did not mention how to use these).
We then went for breakfast, the glass that had my yoghurt had lipstick on the edge, and there were no clean mugs for coffee. Also the food was sparse, there was only pineapple and the yoghurt as mentioned. The pastries were finished, and not replaced during the time we were seated, and many came after us were left with the last pieces of fruit only.
When we arrived at the pool there were no seats inside available inside, and we needed to wait until people moved on before we could sit down. We did try outside, but between the seats being wet and the inclement weather, this was not an option.
Lunch was the only highlight of the day - the person who greeted us was excellent, engaging, and helpful; however, as we had allergies we were provided a schedule of dishes and allergy contents which was two exceptionally tatty pages stapled together. Then our waitress had no idea how to deal with the allergies menu, even when I said we had checked. She returned with our drinks, pouring my husband's, but not pouring mine. The service clearly indicated a sincere lack of training, which is so easy to remedy. That said, the food that arrived was fresh and very tasty - ergo the highlight.
I am surprised at the lack of pazazz of a Champneys location, it appeared tired and a little frayed at the edges all round, and for the amount paid for the day, was sincerely over priced and lacking of value.
