After 11 separate bookings were cancelled by Virgin over the years—often at the last minute—we finally gave up. We ended up taking a flight with a different company while on holiday in Morocco last year, which was an incredible experience and everything we had hoped for.
We then contacted Virgin to request a refund, as it was clear their service was unreliable and we had lost all faith. The response from their customer service team, specifically from Lynn Mackleston, was shocking. Instead of an apology for the multiple cancellations over 7 years, we were essentially told our voucher was expired. They noted our last booking was in July 2023, and although they had kindly given us a "complimentary" 4-month extension in January 2024, we had not used it.
The final insult? We were offered new vouchers, but only if we paid a £65.00 fee per voucher. They stated clearly, "we do not offer refunds or exchanges for expired vouchers." This is a company that repeatedly failed to deliver a service over a period of seven years, then blames the customer for not being able to use a voucher that was repeatedly made unusable. The lack of accountability is astounding.
