Doesn't work as a spa day
Spa At The Abbey Hotel的点评
点评：We were told that we were the only people there on a spa day when we went this week. This meant that we had the tranquillity room to ourselves, which was nice. It is a small relaxing room but with only two beds, it wouldn't be nice if it was busy. The restaurant was also quiet with just us and a few golfers. The afternoon tea was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and attentive.
The problem is the pool area which is too small for the number of people using it. There is a decent sauna, steam room, spa pool and a very small swimming pool. In addition there is a small relaxation area but with only five loungers and a few chairs there is never enough space. It would be fine if this was just for spa and hotel guests but it seems to be in constant use by other groups throughout the day. In the afternoon half the pool was roped off for back to back swimming lessons. This resulted in a riot of children running around and playing in the spa pool unsupervised. Neither the swimming teacher nor the pool attendant attempted to stop small children in armbands throwing soapy bubbles at each other. This setup just doesn't work for a relaxing spa day.
There is also a weird system of needing to take your own padlock for the lockers which meant I ended up carrying my bag around with me all day which was a nuisance.
I wouldn't recommend or visit again as I think there are better options around for a similar price.
