点评：This was unexpectedly the highlight of our trip! 11/10. If you visit this area and don’t do this you are not fully experiencing the beauty of Ojai.
This is a small family owned and operated winery at the top of a mountain, with the most spectacular and breathtaking views all the way to the ocean. It’s open by appointment only and a little bit scary to find - we planned for extra time and needed it. It was easily a +20 min ride over Google Maps estimate. We also took an uber which was a mistake - this is in an extremely remote and “wild” place. Hire a professional driver who can wait for you so you can responsibly enjoy the wine and have a ride home!
The tasting was set up in the yard of their home overlooking the view. Olga, the owner, and her entire family were present to make the experience intimate and warm and lovely - it truly is a family run operation. We even made friends with their baby goat who was bopping around the property through the tasting. This is not a commercial winery experience like you might expect in Napa - it is small, intimate, and I would almost describe it as a fairytale farm meets chateau.
We tasted 6+ wines all made from her small acreage. They are partnering with a wine maker from Napa to bring the land to life - Erich Bradley of Repris.
All of the wines were delightful and fun and we learned so much about biodynamic farming and the minimalist wine making style they are embracing. They prepared a charcuterie board to accompany the wines which was plentiful. The owner, Olga, was our host, but mentioned generally you will meet with her sommeliers for the tasting. They were running a wedding down the road at their event property.
After the tasting, you can buy bottles, a case, or join their exclusive invite only wine club.
I cannot recommend this enough. Truly. You can reserve your time slot on their website and the cost of the tasting is 100% worth it. The experience will be the highlight of your trip!
