点评：Homecoming Weekend: Great Staff, Disappointing Hotel
Unfortunately, our stay was pretty disappointing, especially considering we paid over $800 for the accommodations during homecoming weekend.
The hotel appeared to still be under construction or undergoing renovations. There were pallets of materials sitting on the lobby floor, and paint cans were visibly stacked in the office. There was also a noticeable sour, mildew-like odor, particularly in the elevators and our room. This was especially concerning because members of our group have asthma.
The hotel also advertised a swimming pool, but the pool was completely empty and unavailable for use. Breakfast was advertised from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, but when we arrived around 9:45 AM, everything was already gone, including the coffee. I also had difficulty determining how to access the advertised Wi-Fi, although I admittedly forgot to ask the front desk for assistance with that.
I do want to emphasize that the staff was wonderful. Every interaction I had with the front desk was pleasant, and the employees were consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful. One employee even provided me with an extra blanket that was still in its original packaging, which I genuinely appreciated.
We didn’t bring most of these concerns to the staff because we recognized that many of the issues were beyond their immediate control. The employees couldn’t reasonably be expected to resolve the property’s odor, ongoing construction, or empty swimming pool, and I didn’t feel it was fair to direct those frustrations toward people who had been nothing but accommodating.
Overall, the property seemed poorly prepared for what I would expect to be a busy homecoming weekend. For a stay costing more than $800, I expected better maintenance, cleanliness, communication, and access to the amenities that were advertised.
The staff deserves recognition for their hospitality, but unfortunately, the condition of the hotel and the overall accommodations fell well short of expectations.
