Terrible 12-day Indie Campers rental - will never book again

点评：12-day Indie Campers rental, picked up Paris CDG (Booking 3746030). Multiple serious problems, poorly resolved.
1) Fuel: the signed check-in document records the tank as "Empty" at pickup. Indie's own terms (clause 19.1) say the vehicle must be provided above reserve. We ran out of fuel on a motorway within ~20 minutes of leaving the depot, in a heatwave, with our 5-year-old. We contacted support immediately and received no roadside assistance.
2) A laptop was stolen from the van through a window that was faulty from day one and could never be opened. It was tampered with and gave way. We filed a French police report and have photos of the tampering.
3) The refrigerator did not work for the entire 12 days on either gas or mains — no safe food storage for the whole trip so had to eat out the whole 12 days.
Also reported: lock, electrical and bedding issues (acknowledged by Indie).
After two months of emails, total compensation offered was €243 against documented losses far exceeding that, including the stolen laptop. We have the signed contract, police report, photos and correspondence for all of the above. Disappointing and stressful experience; we'd urge others to document everything at pickup and not to book with Indie Campers.
