点评:– We travelled by the Shinkansen “Bullet” Train between the cities of Tokyo Kyoto Hiroshima and Osaka – all in Green Class – equivalent to business class – all departed on time from carriage markers on the dedicated platforms – seated in a 2 x2 seating – big comfy seats with decent legroom – there were overhead storage spaces that could accommodate a medium suitcase and pre-bookable pre-paid space at the rear of the carriage for oversized cases – we had sent our larger suitcase by courier onto to our last hotel and therefore only had carry-on sized cases which presented no difficulties - whilst travelling at speed the ride was smooth and quiet – the carriages were never full – the toilets were clean – there was a trolley service and refuse collection – but on each of journeys we had bought snacks from the station shops – much higher quality than you find at UK stations with a greater choice – approaching stations you were encouraged to get ready for disembarkation well before we stopped as there was not much time to get off and on – announcements were given in English and Japanese and all the signing was dual language – the journeys were unremarkable – and we took little notice of the passing landscape except when Mount Fuji came into view – travelling by Shinkansen trains makes large areas of Japan easily accessible and given the central location of the stations a more convenient option to flying or travelling by road.
