点评:Hi,
We are a team from Indonesia, 13 people in total, and we would like to thank Elbrus Climbing for the services provided during our Elbrus expedition from 9–17 July 2026, led by our guide, Valerie.
However, we would also like to formally express our concerns about how our summit attempt on 15 July 2026 was managed. We started at 11:30 pm with 13 participants. Four people were asked to return to the hut for personal (health) reasons, and 9 of us continued and reached 5,550 m. At that point, our guide informed us that ALL of us had to turn back due to “bad conditions,” without any clear or detailed explanation of the specific risks or factors considered.
What was difficult for us to accept was that, while we were all instructed to descend, one person was allowed to continue toward the summit, accompanied by the photographer we had hired to document our group activities. This decision, and the change in the photographer’s role, were not communicated transparently to the rest of the team and felt unfair and unprofessional from our perspective.
We also faced serious communication challenges. Besides the main guide, there were three other guides who could not communicate in English. This made it very hard for us to understand instructions and to discuss decisions, especially during such a critical phase as the summit attempt. For international clients, clear communication in a common language is essential for both safety and trust.
We respect the importance of safety and guide decisions on the mountain, but we believe that:
Clear, detailed explanations of decisions affecting the whole group
Consistent and fair treatment of all clients
And effective communication in a common language
are basic expectations for an international climbing service.
We hope this feedback will be taken seriously and used to improve communication, transparency, and fairness for future clients.
Warm regards,
From all of us who traveled far from Indonesia with the hope and passion to reach the summit of Elbrus.
对影响整个团队的决策作出清晰且详细的说明;
公平、一致地对待所有客户;
