点评:This trip is NON-REFUNDABLE, and unfortunately, I learned the hard way that this policy seems to matter more to them than the wellbeing of their guests.
People are superficially very nice and friendly — until you actually need help.
I was injured in an accident one month before the trip and suffered a fracture in my spine. This was completely unexpected and obviously not something I could have planned for or avoided. Because of my injury, I was physically unable to participate in yoga or properly take part in the retreat.
I understand that if someone simply changes their mind or cancels for personal reasons, a non-refundable policy may apply. I am not arguing about that. What I find extremely disappointing is that, even after explaining that I had a spinal fracture and could not physically participate in the activities, they refused to reimburse me a single cent.
What makes this even more upsetting is the contradiction with the values they promote.
They talk about welcoming everyone, accepting yourself, and “loving your body first.” But what does “love your body first” mean when someone is literally injured and needs to prioritize their health — yet is still expected to attend a yoga retreat they cannot physically participate in, simply because the money is non-refundable?
I have been to different wellness and yoga environments, and I have never experienced this level of disconnect between the spiritual message being promoted and the way an individual situation was actually handled.
The response essentially felt like:
“We are sorry to hear that you are injured, but you still have to pay in full, and we cannot reimburse you anything.”
That is not the kind of compassion, understanding, or human consideration I would expect from a retreat centered around yoga, wellbeing, and spiritual growth.
Of course, businesses need policies. But there should also be room for basic humanity and exceptional circumstances. An accident resulting in a spinal fracture is not someone casually deciding they no longer want to go on a trip.
For me, this experience completely changed how I view the organization. Their words about compassion, acceptance, and wellbeing sound wonderful — but when I actually needed those values to be reflected in their actions, they were nowhere to be found.
I would strongly recommend thinking twice before booking if there is any possibility that an unexpected medical or personal emergency could prevent you from attending. Their “non-refundable” policy appears to be non-negotiable, regardless of the circumstances.
