点评：I took National Express from London Heathrow (LHR) to Birmingham (BHX) for a business trip near the NEC and had a smooth experience.
I bought my ticket the day before and paid a small fee for a flexible ticket. It was cheaper than the train and, importantly, required zero transfers—no need to travel into central London with luggage to change trains after a long international flight.
After clearing customs faster than expected, I found the bus terminal easily—it’s well signed alongside the Tube. It was ~ 10 min walk from where I exited customs. I had looked up youtube videos of the walk to the bus terminal so it felt familiar.
I saw an earlier bus departure when I checked the NE website, and the friendly driver happily accepted my flexible ticket, getting me on a bus hours earlier than planned. It was easy to find which bus as they were clearly marked on an electronic display. A colleague had the same experience the day before.
The ride was comfortable and stress‑free: safe driver, comfortable seats, and USB charging. The bus terminal has a clean restroom and coffee shop. I didn’t visit the onboard restroom.
Overall, a reliable, affordable, and low‑friction option from Heathrow, especially if you’re heading toward Birmingham or the NEC and want to avoid train transfers.
