Driver pretending to be a tour guide, waste of time and money

点评：We were staying at the Excellence Playa Mujeres resort in early February, and decided to book a private tour to Chichen Itza on one of the days. Since we were a group of 6 we thought a private car trip with a driver would be the best option for us. We were told we would have a tour guide accompanying us and the driver in the car.
The next morning we discovered that it was just the driver who also claimed to be the guide. Fine, as long as he actually does guide. Well, the guy really didn't seem to enjoy talking... The entire route to Chichen Itza which took about 2 hours the guy was entirely silent. We requested that he talks about the areas we are passing through or the history of the region, and he said "ask me questions I will answer if I know the answer". The worst part was the tour at the archeological site however. He was saying so little, that I actually wanted to join another group to hear some information. I even called him out and asked why he was not providing more information like other guides, and he said that other guides were making up stuff and he only liked to communicate "facts he actually believed in"! This was the weirdest experience, very disappointing, considering we might never go back to this marvelous site and also the amount of money we paid for this tour. And to add to the whole bitterness of the experience, I later fact checked some of the things he had mentioned, and they turned to be false. We are going to file an official complaint with the company to investigate the situation.
