My wife and I loved the food! We were looking for a restaurant with authentic Chinese food and we found it here. I had the Cumin Lamb, very flavorful. My wife had the Chong Qing chicken. Definitely suggest that people try this place.
Bottom line -- this has become our favorite restaurant in the Portland area. Their new items (on the white supplemental menu) are particularly good. Our only complaint is that the amount of duck in the Homestyle Duck stir-fry is a bit scanty, so we will ask for a double portion next time. Also, they do not go all-out to "numbing"... 更多
My wife and I loved our dinner. We started out with pot stickers and hot & sour soup and followed with curry chicken and Szechuan chicken. The service was excellent as was all of the food. The prices were very reasonable and the surroundings very pleasant. We plan on a return trip very soon.
When I was a kid, we would go to Chinatown for dinner all the time. Since moving to Portland, we have been searching for good Chinese food. This is as good as we have found so far. Not overly salty or greasy. The decor is an odd mix of Portland industrial and cheap diner - not much to look at.... 更多
We visited on a Friday evening around 6:30pm; the restaurant was beginning to get busy but a table for two only took a few minutes to get. The food was absolutely, to-die-for, tasty. We got honey-walnut tofu (which was crispy on the outside but the inside melted in your mouth), szechuan chicken (which was superbly seasoned), and vegetable chow mein.... 更多
Was looking for a Chinese restaurant to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in our daughter's new city. Went to an early dinner at the Szechuan Chef with no reservations. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. We always start with fried dumpling but they served us steamed instead. They were okay. The green onion pancakes and the vegetable egg rolls were good.... 更多
My family and I have been eating here for several years. My wife is Chinese, and I lived in China for six years, so we do know authentic Chinese food. This is the best we've found in Portland.
I went to Szechuan Chef with some friends from work, one of them from Shanghai. (This is his favorite Chinese restaurant in the area, by the way). We'd talked about how much I enjoy spicy foods and Arron was certain that I'd meet my limit. But, to his surprise, even though I ordered the kung pao tofu extra spicy, I... 更多
We had our standard sichuan dishes. Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, dry fried green beans, dumplings for the kids and the house special hand cut noodles. All of them were excellent. The filling in the dumplings was much better than most in my opinion. The noodles were the star of the show!
Great atmosphere and helpful staff. Food came pretty quickly. Food was good cant complain, but seemed to be more Americanized at least with the dishes we chose. Chicken cow mein, szechuan beef, sweat and sour chicken and the dumplings.
