It is a fine restaurant but you can have a good dinner under 20 dollars too. The environment is nice and quiet.
Enjoyed the sweet potato onion soup and a salad. Shared bread and hummus with friends. Spent almost 2 hours there last night, lingering over dessert on a slow Monday night with few university students in town. Covered all essential topics of conversation, relaxed, enjoyed ourselves. Service was great. Can't say enough good things about Salaam. Go there!
A friend said, "I want to take you to the best restaurant in Athens." A can't vouch for that, but I can say it was the best Middle Eastern food I've ever had. Plus, the staff was earnest in their desire for us to have a great experience, and the venue is lovely.
Good food, pleasant setting, very friendly staff, good value! We needed a place for 8 (and to feed tastes from vegan to carnivore to good old standard American) in Athens - funky, friendly, smalltown Athens - on graduation day for Ohio University, when the families of 3,000 grads overrun the place. Salaam was booked weeks out, but promised to let... 更多
My son lives just outside of Athens and he wanted to go there for his birthday. He had eaten there before but my husband and I had not. I'm not a big fan of spicy food but ordered the Ann salad which I found to be very refreshing and good and the Flat Iron steak which I had without the... 更多
We go to Salaam with family on an irregular basis when we visit family in town; excellent, wide selection of choice on the menu. Typically a crowded place on the weekends when we go, thus we chose an earlier dinning time. Huge number of choices of Middle Eastern food but servers will help with choice; recommend you get a bit... 更多
Don't bother. They claim to take reservations, but don't in fact. Called and the person rudely told me they only take reservations for large parties. It's crowded and they're too busy.
I had a delicious lunch including Mezzeh (Hummus, Baba Ghanoush etc.), Salad (Fattoush) and Shish Tawouk as main course. The decoration is cozy and beautiful, the staff friendly and welcoming, the service quick and attentive, all good! The only downside: Muhammara from the Mezzeh Menu was not available. I'll come back, not only for that.
The wait staff guided us through the menu.. The delicious meze platter and baba gannoush were served with ample, warm homemade flatbread!!
