Expect a line of people - this place is very popular among locals. Large portions, authentic Central Asian cuisine!
Came with local friend/collegues Who wanted me to taste kazakh pasta, Excellent Experience, food is tasty AND cheap spent around ten euros in two but lemonade costs more than main course ( it is very good, though) Had thick noodles with mix Of spicy meat AND vegetables. Place is perfectly Located in the promenade along the river in old Astana
I was taken to this eatery by my guide Malika because as she said "It is very authentic and not expensive. I got the lagman, which are home made noodles (they make them there, and the texture is excellent) that was slathered with a spicy sauce and tiny pieces of cubed meat. I was thirsty but not in the mood... 更多
Turfan offers both Kazakh specialties and Chinese style dim sum which are tasty, made of local products and are offered in large portions. The dim sum was very juicy and full of interesting flavors. Other dishes made of lamb, including internal organs, were very tasty and filling. If you are lucky you can get kumis made of horses milk (not... 更多
I had lunch in this restaurant for 2-3 times during my stay in Astana. This place was 15 minutes walk from my place, and I enjoyed this restaurant. The service was quite fast, the prices were very OK in comparison with Moscow prices :) I always ordered dishes with meat and they were always good. There was WIFI.
I was there several times and really enjoyed the Lagman (noodles) and Donner (I think) ; kind of looked like a burrito but wasn't - - it was big and tasted nice. Located on river with a horse statue with it's rear facing the Turfan - - some of us affectionately referred to the place as the "horse's...butt" when we... 更多
The place is nice enough, with lots of presumable local students as waiters, whom you have to call up expressly (eye contact and patience won't help). Children-friendly and inexpensive. Serves Turkish and other Turkic food. Not a small menu to look through, but the choice is usually made easier by the fact that some items won't be available. I liked... 更多
The restaraunt is situated on the river bank in the old city center near the Central City Park. If you plan to visit the place choose the outdoor tables (if the weather allows) and enjoy a fresh wind while tasting the food. I liked the food, portions were rather big yet a bit too salty for me. The prices are... 更多
I've visited three times, most recently in April 2016. Turfan has two menus, one Turkish and one Chinese/Uighur. Most dishes are good (I especially liked the manty with meat and zhusai, aka Chinese chives or jiucai) but I've had a couple of disappointments (thick, rather bland lahmacun and extremely bony fish). Inexpensive. Multiple servers share responsibility for tables. I expected... 更多
