This was a beautiful half day trip from our villa in Borobudur. The journey is lovely through the villages and the walk itself easy yet very beautiful in the middle of the rice paddies. The temple itself nothing spectacular after seeing Borobudur, however just for the walk it was worthwhile the trip.
I've been several times visit this place . I didn't found any invention. Just naturally. Very nice. All terraces . I'm an Indonesian , sound bit crazy but I'm in group driving motorbike through those very small paving blocks to get to the temple. Little adventure .
don't expect anything from the temple itself but the walk through the rice terraces and the interaction with the warm and friendly Indonesian people make this a great half day. Marvel at how hard they work.
The temple is small, but the trek through picturesque rural landscape to reach the temple is the main purpose to get here. The light hike to reach the temple takes around two hours and leads through rice paddy fields and lush vegetation. From the temple area, you will be rewarded with views of Mount Sumbing shrouded in mist to the... 更多
Well worth the effort. A small insignificant temple, but the walk to get there (even in the rain as we did) made the journey well worth it. Amazing views and insights into local life including working in the rice paddies and pigeon racing.
I booked a short trip from my hotel in Borobudur and I am very glad I did. Wasnt expecting to much and sure enough the temple was not spectacular. However the surroundings and the trip there were simply amazing. Ended up being one of those experiences I will never forget.
As has been said before the temple itself is not the reason for the journey..it's the setting and people you meet on your travel experience. We were lucky to witness pigeon races! The village you pass through is very authentic and we only met one other family on our trip. Very special.
Sometimes, it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. This certainly applies to Candi Selogriyo. It is a long climb up a narrow road to a village, and then a walk of about 1.6 km up a nice brick path, with a not- challenging 122m climb in all, to the temple. The temple is a Hindu temple which is fairly simple... 更多
Selogriyo is located at Candisari village. It was the ancient heritage from the Old Mataram Kingdom back from 9 century. Visiting the temple is not only to learn the historical site but also to do advantourues biking activity. The road is through paddi field with the view of Sumbing mountain.
