Not what it used to be - Jack would be disappointed
Long Bay Golf Club的点评
点评：Long Bay used to be my favorite course in the area, but after the last round on December 23rd, I will not longer say that. I was completely disappointed with the course and the staff.
Understanding it is December, so most courses suffer a little bit, but this is more than just the weather. The course is absolutely not maintained the way it used to be.
Greens were not in good shape, but maybe that's the weather.
This time of year, good courses overseed to keep the fairways green. It seemed like they made half an effort to overseed - there appeared to be very little overseeding - just enough to look green from a distance, but not enough to provide ample grass to hit from.
The waste bunkers, which have always been an integral part of the course aesthetics, have apparently been completely ignored with respect to maintenance. Much of them have been completely overgrown by weeds and grass, and look absolutely terrible.
The gentleman at the bag drop in the morning was not very pleasant either. In the past, all the staff at this course have been polite and helpful. This guy was just flat rude. When we told him the club house told us to start on the back, he said no, they were only single teeing. When we insisted, he meandered up to the club house to check, and when he returned, scowled and snidely said "Merry Christmas" like he was doing us a great favor.
I played several courses all week, that were 20 dollars less per round, and the courses were in far better condition and the staff members were appreciative of our business.
Sorry, but it will be a long time before I come back to Long Bay.
