Mon Repos Turtle Centre的点评
点评：HEADS OUT FOR SECOND TIME VISITORS:
I have been a local in the Wide Bay for 35 years.
Recently we visited Mon Repos to see the turtle hatchlings.
Last time we visited was around 10 years ago.
What a change:
Families with younger children not prioritised in for the eariler outings.
Group size very large, felt like we were being herded like cattle.
Hard for the ranger to speak to such a large group.
Could not fit everybody down the beach to watch the hatching enter the water.
When we tried to get a view at all nearer to the water, we were told to move back.
I questioned why and was told if I didn't do so I would be removed from the beach.
In the past you would stand one behind the other, spread your legs like tunnel ball and the turtles would travel through to the water.
What an experience that was.
Sorry to have to write this, as I very rarely write reviews.
But especially locals or anyone who has been in the past need to be aware of the changes.
Honestly I wish I didn't go and was left with my wonderful past memories.
