Rosslare to Bilbao short Brittany Ferries Trip

点评：So I had a week off. I wanted to do something but the rest of the family were working or in school/ college...
I decided to go on a trip via the Brittany Ferry Santoña and travel from Rosslare to Bilbao and back.
I like travelling by ferry. Once aboard, and in your cabin , it is like being checked in in a hotel room.
The trip started a little late due to weather, but the arrival time was unaffected. As a walk on passenger when we arrived in Spain we were transported from the Ferry in Bilbao to customs (approx 13:30).
The bus then collected us from customs and transported us to central Bilbao, and arrived there at about 14:22. There was a return bus from there at 16:30 for the 18:00 departure. The 'shuttle bus' to and from the ferry was arranged by Brittany Ferries and was free.
The Irish Rail staff in Rosslare Harbour were excellent. The staff on board the Santoña were also excellent, as we're the staff at Bilbao port.
I did not have access to the "C-Club" premium lounge so I can't comment on it's value.
The cabin was great with two three pin plug sockets, two ' continental ' two pin sockets, and four usb charging sockets.
The cabin also had a television, but for the 26 hour trip I had no need for television. Others and families may find that useful.
The food on board, I enjoyed. I did hear some people complain about the food, but in my experience of ferries (24 times Ireland /France 2 times Ireland/Spain) I have no complaints.
If having a family party, or friends reunion, and looking for a few days away I would highly recommend this trip from Rosslare to Bilbao and back.
