Galapagos's best kept secret

点评：When preparing for our trip to Galapagos (internet and guide books) we had never heard of the Daphne Islands. It was only when we scoffed at paying an exorbitant price for a tour to Seymour Norte, that an intelligent tour agent suggested the less expensive Daphne Islands.
After a forty minute mini bus ride across Santa Cruz, we boarded our boat. A relatively short ride (another 40 minutes) brought us to the two Daphne Islands (they are 15 minutes from one another by boat). Simply put, it was the best snorkeling that we did on Santa Cruz or San Cristobal (we haven't as yet done Isabella). Clear waters, excellent visibility, lots of colourful fish, along with a shark (the friendly type) and three beautiful rays. We finished the day back on Santa Cruz, swimming on a lovely beach, sharks (again, the friendly ones) and rays in the water with us. Other than the wonderful snorkeling, it was a pleasure NOT to have spent an inordinate amount of time traveling the open seas. Distances were pretty close. A great to tour.
