点评:Picture this: you’re 6 miles from home near Topsham, one of the 2 rented e-bike’s battery has died because it was never fully charged, and you’re on the phone to the shop for help. Three calls, a voicemail, and one email later, you finally get through — “ah, you, yes yes.” Reassuring, right? He tells you this has “never happened before” (convenient) and that there’s no plan for a dead battery and nothing he could do to help. You ask what he can actually do. His answer: “it’s your problem". His guidance? “Well, Topsham train station, up the road you know.” Then then he hangs up on you mid-sentence.
So — we took his advice. We pushed to Topsham station, locked both bikes up safely, and hopped on the train home, no worse for wear.
Then we emailed him a nice timestamped photo of the bikes waiting for him (see attached), right where he told us to leave them. No refund, no apology, no acknowledgement the battery was the shop’s fault to begin with — but also no lasting damage on our end, since we handled it exactly as instructed.
Turns out “your problem” was pretty easy to solve after all.
If you hire from here, just bring a fully charged sense of humour — you might need it more than the bike’s battery.
