Big Tour of Ethiopia
Awaze Tours的点评
点评：I took the 28 Day Ethiopia tour in two stages of 14 days each, almost a year apart. Ethipia is a fantastically interesting place and 28 days covers a large swath of the country, from the north, close to Eritrea, to the far south close to Kenya. Highlights are the volcanos and geological oddities in the Erta Ale area, the stone churches at Lalibela, the walled city of Harar and the geography in the southern part of the country.
The Bad: the tour was rather poorly planned with long travel days (some 11 - 12 hours drive to get to the Bale National Park for a short hike to see very few animals), changes in flights with no notification and very poor communications from the compay.
The Good: my driver/guide Mulu was a fantastic guy and a consummate problem-solver who smoothed over all the wrinkles in travel plan and who had a seemingly magical ability to find gas for our vehicle despite major shortages in the south of the country. Mulu was personable, adaptable, and an excellent driver who provided for all of my needs on this two week trip.
Also, shout-outs to a nice young fellow who drove me around Addis Ababa for my last day and a bit. This kid could maneuvre the vehicle with ease around a very large, congested and permanently-under-construction city like Addis. I forget his name but his big city driving skills were impressive.
So, despite a few snags, everything worked out fine. The lodgings were adequete to very nice, the food was great overall and I very much enjoyed myself.
I would recommend Awaze Tours to anyone thinking of Ethiopia and ask if Mulu is available to take you.

另外，还要特别感谢一位友善的小伙子，他在我离开亚的斯亚贝巴的最后一天多一点时间里开车带我游览。这位小伙子驾驶技术娴熟，即使在亚的斯亚贝巴这样一座庞大、拥挤且常年处于建设中的城市里也能轻松驾驭。我忘了他的名字，但他在大城市的驾驶技术确实令人印象深刻。
所以，尽管遇到了一些小插曲，但总体来说一切都很顺利。住宿条件从舒适到非常好都有，食物也总体上很棒，我玩得很开心。
