点评：We visited on December 22nd 2025. It was a cool day and there were some clouds, but despite that, we saw a lot of monarch butterflies both clinging to the trees and flying around. one of my daughter's and I hired horses to go down, becuase we both were recovering from foot injuries. Its $10 USD per horse per direction. We hiked up with the rest of my family, but thought it best to take the horses down. I'm guessing the hike up was around 40 minutes. Before you arrive at the ticket gate, you walk past a lot of vendors/stores where you can buy some food, snacks, drinks. We ate at one of the vendors recommended in the parking lot after our hike. It was not one of the better meals I had in Mexico. We hited a private driver from Mex City (Aaron Cruz), overnighted at Cabanas la Palma in Angangeuo, and then rode to San Miguel de Allende the next day. Its a 4 hour ride from Mex City and to SMA. If you go back and forth to CDMX in one day, that's 8 hours of being in a car. I thought our way was more efficient and less stressful.
