点评:This Bonaventure Cemetery tour with Ron was an absolute highlight—easily a 5-star experience.
Ron has been a volunteer at the cemetery for nearly 20 years, and it shows. He knows the grounds inside and out, and his stories were incredibly rich, detailed, and genuinely fascinating. He’s also really funny, which made the 2.5-hour tour fly by.
I especially appreciated how well-read he is—he recommended several books that clearly informed the depth of his storytelling. You can tell he’s deeply invested in both the history and how it’s shared.
He also went above and beyond in terms of care and comfort—providing ice-cold water, and even having umbrellas and camp chairs available if anyone needed them.
One of the most meaningful parts of the tour for me was his intentional, anti-racist language—using phrases like “owned people” instead of “owned slaves.” It added a level of thoughtfulness and respect that really stood out.
Highly, highly recommend this tour with Ron if you’re visiting Savannah.
