Watch for scams in the shops - the prices literally change multiple times

点评：There are some beautiful shops in Sunset boulevard at Grand Baie but shoppers need to be highly aware and on guard for scamming. Unfortunately we had 2 very bad experiences. The prices were constantly changing in the shops when we looked at anything….
W.Ilane Co Ltd - cashmere shop offering woolen wear. We were very disappointed as were seriously scammed here. We were inundated with offers from the staff who informed us that ALL cashmere in the shop was 50% off. 3 of us spent money in the shop. One sale had 4 items of cashmere and it was only once we got back to the hotel and checked our foreign bank account that the amount looked substantially higher than it should have. We went back the next day and they had charged us double the price for the scarves compared to the pullovers?? Doesnt make any sense and an absolute rip off to be honest!! Definitely not worth the money. Check your invoices. Items were not itemised with individual prices. The focus was the staff telling us we can get the VAT back at the airport.
Sunset Jewellers - We spent a substantial amount of money getting some pearl jewellery made for our daughters. On delivery the workmanship was very poor and the goods not what we asked for. We returned all the goods the next day and requested better workmanship and the correct items that we had paid for. We were lucky - we got a good outcome and our goods were sorted out but it wasted a lot of our time!
