Surrey Hills Brewery的点评
点评：This is a difficult one for me to review, but as it is on here under the category of ‘Things to do in Dorking’ I am inclined to review it as a place to go out of your way to visit whilst in Dorking and actually if I had done that, I would have been truly disappointed.
As it happened, I didn’t go out of my way as I was visiting the Denbies Wine Estate and had not realised that the Surrey Hills Brewery is part of the same development, being tucked away behind the Denbies Winery’s main building. But on seeing the signs for it and being very partial to a pint of Shere Drop, I got all excited to visit after our winery tour and enjoy the tap room and browse the brewery shop, as I used to do when working close to the Rebellion Brewery in Marlow.
So, after the tour round we walked to discover no tap room and no shop to speak of, just a back door entrance to the brewery, inside of which was a room that had a table out front with a printed piece of paper detailing the few items on sale. I did come away with four bottles of Shere Drop, but the experience was all a bit underwhelming, and I was very glad I had not embarked on a special journey to visit the brewery.
Now if I was reviewing their beer, it would be five stars. And if I had taken the brewery tour, I’m sure that would have been a five star experience as well. But as a visit outside of an organised tour, then I have to say don’t bother.
