When a friend from Canada suggested we do a trial run in northern Portugal, we started looking for someone who really knew the region. After a bit of searching, we found Adventours — and reaching out to Nuno was the best decision we could have made.
From the very start, Nuno was exceptionally responsive and organised. He kept in touch via WhatsApp and email, refining every detail. At one point, he even lost his phone while re-running parts of the trail to capture precise GPS coordinates for our route — that says everything about his level of commitment.
Over three days, we covered close to 80 kilometres through Peneda-Geres National Park. The planning was meticulous. Each morning, Nuno briefed us clearly, made sure we had everything we needed, and nothing was left to chance.
What truly surprised us was his care along the way. He checked in regularly and even appeared on the trail at unexpected moments to encourage us. And then there were the magical touches — Nuno arriving out of nowhere with hot coffee flavoured with nutmeg and cinnamon, or tea and biscuits. Completely unexpected, completely appreciated.
The accommodation he arranged was excellent, and his food and wine recommendations were spot on. After long days on the trails, his local knowledge made all the difference.
People often say someone went the extra mile. In this case, it is safe to say Adventours and Nuno redefined it — they went the extra Nuno. He did not just meet expectations. He quietly and consistently exceeded every one of them.
I cannot recommend Nuno and Adventours highly enough.
