If you’re thinking about booking a trip with Fish Em LLC, stop thinking and just do it—unless you hate catching massive salmon, seeing bald eagles commit murder, and laughing until your face hurts.
I spent a full day on the Kenai with Travis as my guide, and it was like stepping into a National Geographic episode—except with more fish and better jokes. Within minutes, rods were bending everywhere. Silver salmon, rainbow trout, and Dolly Varden were practically throwing themselves onto our hooks. At one point, I was convinced Travis had trained the fish like some kind of Alaskan aquatic dog whisperer.
Highlight of the day? Landing a salmon so big it looked like it had been hitting the gym all summer while I was hitting the fridge. It’s the kind of fish you take a picture with because your friends won’t believe you unless there’s photographic evidence. (Don’t worry, I got the proof.)
And the wildlife! We saw seals cruising the river, bald eagles patrolling the skies, and even witnessed an eagle take out a seagull. It was equal parts majestic and savage—basically the WWE of the animal kingdom.
Travis kept everything smooth, fun, and dialed in. He knows the river better than most people know their own living rooms. Gear, boat, and vibes were all top notch.
Bottom line: If you want a once-in-a-lifetime Alaskan fishing trip where you’ll laugh, catch more fish than you can count, and have stories so wild people might not believe you, Fish Em LLC is the only way to go. I’ll be back as soon as my arms recover from reeling in fish all day.
