点评：We read some good reviews about Khao Lak guru so we booked a day trip with them. Pick up was on time and in a lovely air conditioned mini bus. The trip took in a bamboo raft along a blissfully peaceful river. Then on to the elephant sanctuary, where we fed and bathed the rescue elephants (awesome!). Then, delicious lunch at an authentic Thai restaurant where we also picked up sone cooking tips. Final stop was at the turtle sanctury, which is also a naval base, and a memorial to the tragic tsunami. Our guide (Ching) spoke very good English and was both friendly and knowledgeable, which made the experience all the more interesting. We were so impressed with the service that we booked another trip with them. This time a boat trip out to the stunning islands of Phang Nga bay. A very early start meant that we took in the sunrise over the majestic scenery as we headed towards James Bond Island, before any other tourists arrived. We had the island to ourselves! Then on to another cluster of islands where we transferred to kayaks to go through caves (mind your head!). Our 'captain' was hilarious, constantly cracking jokes and pretending to see crocodiles....until he wasn't pretending 😳 Yes there was an actual croc in the water with us, but it kept it's distance. Onwards to a floating fishing village where we had another incredible lunch made fresh for us. Finally, back to shore and up to the Samet Nangshe viewing point. Utterly breathtaking view over the bay and islands we had just travelled around on the boat. Altogether a captivating experience we'll never forget, and again, Ching was brilliant, as was everyone else involved.
If you're going to Khao Lak, do yourself a favour and book some trips with the Guru. You won't regret it.
