Poor management lets down a decent course

点评：Interesting course let down by management.
My friend and I booked the first tee time one morning in November. Upon arriving to a curt welcome in the pro shop we were reminded of our tee time (like we didn't know) and told that there was to be strictly no teeing off early - "we have cameras....".
Venturing to the first tee we found a group of four already hitting off a few minutes before our approved first tee time - most definitely early!
After playing the first nine quickly, we started the back nine. Upon arriving at the 11th tee, we saw four groups of four in various states of disarray along the extent of the rather short 11th hole. Clearly there had been a large group of people who started their round on the 10th. We were later told that these ladies only play nine holes and prefer the back nine. While they were remarkably slow, their taste in holes was in order as the back nine, at least what we saw of it, was far superior.
After playing the 12th hole twice - we decided that the pace of play was too slow so we bailed out and played the 17th and 18th on the way back to the clubhouse.
It seems obvious, however, people book the first tee time for a reason. We were time constrained and the ridiculous policy of allowing a number of slow groups to tee off from the 10th after the field has commenced on the front nine is ridiculous.
While there are some run of the mill holes weaving through the housing development, there are some great holes along the coast and it was unfortunate that we didn't get to play them due to some poor management decisions. Alternating the starting nines would allow people who only want to play the better nine to choose an appropriate day to play.
