An Amazing Experience Seeing Alligators in the Wild!

We visited Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, about 45 minutes from our hotel in Orlando. I was a little sceptical beforehand about how much wildlife we would actually see, but wow, what a lovely surprise!
The drive is approximately 10 miles long, and we travelled at around 5–10 mph for most of it. It took us about an hour and a half to complete, but we never felt rushed.
We came hoping to see alligators in their natural environment, and we certainly weren’t disappointed! We saw plenty of them, including some incredibly close to the road. Seeing these amazing animals in the wild rather than in a zoo or theme park was something really special.
There was plenty of other wildlife to see along the way too, and we managed to get some fantastic photos.
One really clever feature is the optional audio tour. At the entrance, you can scan a QR code to access it, and there are numbered checkpoints along the drive where you can listen to the next section. Such a lovely idea and a great way to learn more about the area and its wildlife as you explore.
One thing we particularly enjoyed was how relaxed the whole experience was. It wasn’t particularly busy when we visited, and there were places to pull over along the route, so we could stop, take photos and enjoy the surroundings without holding everyone else up.
There are even portable toilets along the way, which is handy considering how long you can spend exploring!
The whole experience was peaceful, enjoyable and completely different from the busy Orlando attractions we’d been visiting.
If you’re visiting Orlando and fancy doing something a little different, I would absolutely recommend Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see Florida’s wildlife in its natural habitat.
We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely do it again.

整个过程宁静而愉快，与我们之前参观过的那些热闹非凡的奥兰多景点截然不同。
如果你正在奥兰多旅游，又想体验一些与众不同的活动，我强烈推荐去阿波普卡湖野生动物车道。这是近距离观察佛罗里达州野生动物的绝佳机会。我们乐在其中，绝对会再参加一次。
