点评：If you’re a family in a budget this is something fun you can do absolutely free. It’s best to go early if you want to see alligators, before it gets too warm. We’ve been on this drive so many times at different times of the day and we always see at least a few alligators plus a bunch of other animals like birds and turtles. I would say the best times of the year would be the colder months when the animals come out to sun themselves, and also when it’s very rainy and the water is closer to the road. When it’s dry and hot the water will recede and the animals will be farther away.
This drive will be hours long, so be prepared. They do have bathrooms, but you won’t know how long it will take to get to the bathrooms because you will be going slow on a one way road with not many places to pass other cars. Definitely bring water and maybe some snacks, but you might want to keep your windows closed if you do snack because I have seen some of the birds get close. Remember there is no feeding the animals. Even if you don’t have food the birds aren’t afraid to get close. I have seen people riding in the open beds of trucks with the birds perched on the sides and roofs.
This is a really fun thing to do and my kids love it. We go whenever we can now that we live about an hour away.
