点评：Been coming here since our family purchased one of the original beach condos across the street, which we still own. Almost 50 years! Not much has changed because there has been almost no new development in all that time. If you just want beach, this is one of the best in so Cal, and I've spent time on them all. Never crowded and everything you could want, especially if you don't want a lot of people. If you want a party scene and beach bars and the "cool" place, this isn't the beach. Great beach to run at low tide. I spent many years training doing runs to the Edison towers and back...about 3 miles. The beach is big right now because the Army corp of engineers or whoever has been replenishing it every two years. The Federal Gov suspended the funding for a couple of cycles and the water got almost to the road, but not it's back to a very good size. The beach is your own the on that stretch to Edison and beyond which is pretty cool. In the 70s and early 80s at 4th of July, the beach between the pier and the harbor would be PACKED and hundreds of boats dropped anchor just beyond the waves for the big firework show launched from the pier. Such a great time and scene. Too bad it is a thing of past. It was very unique. No homeless now thank goodness. Anyway, check the tide tables and visit at low tide and enjoy the wide open beach and views. I noticed a ton of people writing messages in the wet sand because the consistency must be perfect for it up and down the beach. On a sad note, I saw two sick birds that I tried to help, giving them water and something to eat yesterday. Today one of them was gone and hoping for the best, the other didn't make it and was still there.
