点评:For both experienced and novice snorkelers, this is a must-see at high tide. It start at an unassuming hut at the side of the road, where the caretaker colelcts a modest 10 tala ($4 USD) fee to help maintain this government-sanctioned reserve.
The hut also has a small number of snorkeling masks for rent, but try to bring your own equiopment. The experience begins about 100 yards out as gently swim out in calm (and not very deep) water towards a buoy with the Samoan flag.
You will pass over dozens of very much alive 2-foot wide clams with irridescent colors inside that "shiver" every few minutes (do not touch them as they may snap shut very quickly). As you approach the buoy, you will be stunned to look down on the really big clams, some 5-6 feet wide.
Again, do this visit close to high tide so you can safely glide over and look down on these amazing creatures.
Also , bring a waterprrof pouch for your cell phone to take videos and photos, because you will simply not be able to recount this experience in words.
On a clear, sunny day, the sunlight sparkling and refracting on the sea floor is mesmerizing.
