The Roselius House which was completed in 1588, resting on foundations that date from the 14th century. It was bought in 1902 by Ludwig Roselius and it became the head office of his business Roselius & Co.. The building was expanded in 1928, and it suffered serious war damage in 1944. By 1954 it was fully restored with the original materials.
This museums houses important works by Lucas Cranach the Elder and by his son Lucas Cranach the Younger, Ludger tom Ring the Younger, Tilman Riemenschneider, Joos van Cleve, Abraham Janssen, and others.
