Sicily Sailing Experience的点评
点评：We spent a wonderful morning sailing the northern coast of Sicily on an Oceanic 34 sail boat with Giovanni as our skipper. Although the boat could accommodate nine guests, we were lucky enough to be the only four guests.
Detailed instructions were provided the day before regarding the meeting point which was about a 30 minute walk from our rental.
We own a sail boat so if we can, we try to include a sailing excursion on most of our trips. Confident that my husband could handle the boat, Giovanni handed him the wheel. My husband could not stop grinning. Giovanni provided a commentary of the sights and although his English was very good, his French was excellent. Given that we were all bilingual, we communicated mostly in French.
Midway thru our sail, Giovanni anchored and set up a simple lunch, washed down with a bottle of local white wine.
The day was perfect for sailing, just enough wind to keep us sailing at a nice clip without any huge wave action. It was interesting to view Ortigia from a different vantage point, the sea, and admire the impressive Maniace fortress. We also sailed by the Plemmirio marine protected area.
Overall, our experience was excellent and memorable. Months later, we are still talking about it.
