An Authentic Sahara Desert Experience with Wonderful Local Hosts

点评：I am extremely happy that I found See Around Morocco and chose them as our tour company for our 4-day trip from Marrakesh to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert.
From the first communication via WhatsApp with Moha, everything was perfect. We agreed on a price for our custom tour, they organised transport and hotel along the way (which was beautiful, btw), and once we arrived in Merzouga, they welcomed us into their lives with kindness and genuine hospitality.
We spent one night at their desert camp in the Sahara Desert near Merzouga and had a great evening with Berber music. The next day, I fulfilled my dream of riding a beautiful Berber stallion through the sand dunes of Merzouga and watched the most beautiful sunrise over the Sahara. Moha coordinated everything with the local horse riding company, for which I am very grateful to him.
Moha and his brother Hassan then took us to have lunch at their family home, which was very sweet, and we felt very privileged to share a meal with them and their extended family. My teenage nephew also loved the quad bike ride through the dunes and couldn’t stop talking about how many amazing photos and videos the guide took for him.
Our last night in Merzouga was as authentic as it gets. We were offered the chance to sleep on the roof of their house under the stars (as it was very hot), which, on its own, was an unforgettable experience.
Between the desert camp, horse riding, quad biking, Berber hospitality, and time spent with a local family, this was one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco. If you are looking for an authentic Sahara Desert experience rather than a rushed group tour, this is the company to choose.
So, if you are still deciding between a cookie-cutter 3-day tour from Marrakesh to Merzouga or a custom tour, I can highly recommend a custom tour with one extra day in Merzouga. When you arrive in Merzouga with the standard 3-day tour (at around 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm), you are taken to the dunes for a sunset and then, in the morning, for a sunrise. You are then ushered into vans to go back to Marrakesh at 7:30 am. This is not NEARLY enough time to explore the dunes and experience Merzouga properly. You will love the extra day exploring the area!
I want to end this review with my heartfelt thanks to Moha and Hassan for giving us memories that will last a lifetime ❤️ (and about a thousand Instagram photos to go with them 😆)
