Multiple guests in our cat were injured on the first day because of the conditions. After the second day of our four-day trip, almost all guests opted out and left to ski at resorts or just go home. Nonetheless, Keefer refused to cancel the trip, insisting that they had used their cats to groom some runs, or could do barbecues and other non-ski events, so the trip would continue.
Other high-end operations cancel or offer rebates or future incentives if conditions are bad. Keefer simply will not. And so if you book with them, you should understand that if conditions are bad you'll lose your money and have no recourse. You can't insure against it (because they'll never cancel) and you can't expect any compensation. You certainly should not take their advice and purchase trip insurance, because they will make sure you can't use it.
I will not be returning. Other cat and heli ski operations have the decency to cancel in the face of bad conditions, and for similar experiences I will take my business there.
