No communication for six months then no refund for mistaken payment

点评：I contacted this company back in June 2025 when the Paparoa Track bookings opened, to see what their rates were for car relocation. The company name then was Paparoa Shuttles. I didn't get any communication from them until 14 December, less than a week before our walk, when I got an email from Go Tracks attaching payment details and requesting payment to confirm my booking. I had booked with another company in the meantime (in June 2025). I then got another email from Go Tracks on 17 December asking for payment to confirm the booking. I mistakenly assumed these emails must have been for the company I had booked with for the car relocation 6 months earlier and arranged for payment to confirm what I thought was the booking I had made with the other company (it turned out I had already paid the full amount with the other company six months earlier).
I realised the mistake the night before the start of the track, on 20 December and immediately rang Go Tracks to explain. They were unwilling to provide any refund, despite not having contacted me in any way until less than a week out from the start of the walk, which according to their policy means you can't get more than 50% of the booking refunded. When I contacted them they apologised for sending two emails but didn't acknowledge failing to contact me for six months until less than a week before the walk. I got an email from them saying they were waiting to hear from their manager over two weeks ago but haven't heard anything further. Communication definitely lacking, seemed a bit sneaky and misleading and pretty miffed to be $339 out of pocket.
