点评：On Friday, we pre-booked a taxi to take us into the town centre, as the journey was approximately 10 minutes by car but around 1 hour and 30 minutes on foot.
Upon arriving at our destination, the driver informed us the fare was £12, which we felt was quite expensive for such a short journey. However, the driver was extremely pleasant, cheerful, and friendly, and as a result we chose to leave a £3 tip.
Later that evening, we booked the same taxi company to collect us from the festival, and had the same driver. The pick-up location was actually closer to our home than the original drop-off point from earlier in the day. When we arrived near our destination, the driver stopped at the bottom of the road and asked us to walk the remainder of the journey. Although it was only approximately 300 metres, it was up a very steep hill, but we agreed to do so.
When we asked how much the fare was, we were told it was £15. We were very surprised by this, considering the journey was shorter than the first one and we were also asked to complete part of the journey on foot. In addition, the vehicle used for the return journey was different and did not appear to have a meter installed, which made the fare seem arbitrary and unjustified.
Overall, we were disappointed by the inconsistency in pricing and felt the charges were unreasonable given the circumstances.
