点评:We visited Old Nick Village after it was recommended on a travel programme we watched on YouTube before our trip, and we’re really glad we made the time to go.
It’s a charming little spot, with small shops scattered throughout beautifully kept gardens. You can easily spend a relaxed morning just wandering between the stores and enjoying the setting.
The real surprise for us, though, was the children’s play area. It’s honestly unlike most playgrounds we’ve come across. You can see that a lot of thought went into designing it with imagination in mind. There are tunnels to explore, slides, wooden beams to balance on, and all sorts of natural elements that invite kids to invent their own adventures — jumping across “lava,” hiding in secret spaces, and generally letting their creativity run wild. It’s all set within the gardens, which makes it feel even more special.
Another highlight was visiting the working mill. Being able to see linens and towels being made on-site was fascinating. You can walk through and observe the production process, including traditional looms in action. There are informative displays along the way, and the staff were friendly and happy to answer questions, which made the experience feel interactive rather than just a quick look-through.
The shops do lean toward the tourist market, with a fairly international feel to many of the products, but that didn’t detract from the experience. Overall, it’s well worth a visit — especially if you’re travelling with children.
