点评:Walking through the park from the car park there are information boards along the way and then some great pictures and a time frame of the barrage construction in the picnic shed .. really interesting to see how they were made. We were pleasantly surprised that you can walk along the barrage out to the lock and through the gates (when the lights are green) to where the attendant sits. There were about 10 seals sleeping/swimming/playing on and around the structure. We were very, very lucky to be out there when a boat was wanting to come through (if you can time your visit when you know only of the cruises are going out it would be great). The Lock Attendant comes out and locks the access gates for a little while and then opens the lock for the watercraft to come through. This is a very interesting process. We were there on a high reverse tide and the water in the lock went down by around 50cm. After the boat had gone through we were speaking with Luke, the Lock Attendant, and he very graciously answered all our questions about how it all works .. thank you Luke.
