Fabulous Jacobean stately home housing the children’s museum

点评：What a revelation this was. A fabulous experience around the children’s museum which is located in the stables. We were by far one of the oldest visitors , with so many families and children enjoying the setting. Masses of hands on activities for them, in all sorts of ways, all the way through the museum. Little rooms for creative activity and the way toys and developed through the last couple of hundred years, supported by the collection of an amazing woman, Betty Cadbury.
In the house itself, we were utterly amazed at the quality of the plasterwork from the 1600’s and the stunning size of the place and all its outbuildings. The family earned money from the land they owned and spent a fortune of preparing it to be the biggest and the best of its time. We’d not seen anything like as grand as this for a 400 year old stately home.
The free car park is easily available across the road from the house
