点评：We had a very fun three days of birding in Mesologgi, Western Greece. Arrangements were easy, Spyros was always accessible when planning the trip and all logistics during the three days were relaxed and great (including food and hotel).
The birding was amazing. As an ornithologist who has worked for NJ Audubon for 20+ years, I wanted to be fully immersed watching avian life in a new setting, and this was perfect. Within hours, the trip felt like birding with a friend, not a guide. Our trip list was more than 90 birds, but the pace was comfortable. We took time to chase down birds like Griffon Vulture and Stone Curlew, to pull off town roads to see nesting storks, and to scan through distant flocks of waders. We watched nesting swallows and house martins, listened to Calandra Larks displaying, did some digiscoping, and found scops-owls right outside our hotel at night. A couple of non-birding side trips/activities, visiting a salt museum (yes, there is really such a place!), and getting a boat tour of the local fish aquaculture farms enriched the experience and gave us a sense of place.
Great area to visit, and we can’t wait to go birding with Spyros again.
