点评：The season of autumn foliage is just around the corner. Japan is blessed with countless places—whether in cities or in remote regions—where the autumn colors are breathtaking. Among them, the two greatest foliage destinations in Japan, in my view, are the Bandai–Azuma Skyline in Fukushima City and the Daisetsuzan Mountains in Hokkaido.
Let me begin with the Bandai–Azuma Skyline. One of the wonderful things about this area is that you can easily reach it by car and enjoy spectacular scenery like the one in the photo.
At the foot of the mountains lie Takayu Onsen, one of the three historic “Highland Hot Springs” of northern Japan, and Tsuchiyu Onsen, counted among Tōhoku’s finest hot-spring resorts.
If you are thinking about taking a trip to enjoy the autumn colors, I hope you will consider adding this region to your list of candidates.
