Wonderful morning estuary tour, highly recommend.

点评：We booked a half-day morning tour with Sierpe Outfitters, leaving at 7 AM, and it exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Simone (originally from the Netherlands, but with more than 20 years of guiding experience in Costa Rica), was fantastic. Her depth of knowledge about the local ecosystem, combined with her captain Greivin’s skill navigating the estuary, made for a really rich experience.
Over the course of the morning we saw caimans, several crocodiles, iguanas, capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, and a crab-eating raccoon, plus we heard howler monkeys calling in the trees. Bird life was abundant too, too many species to list. We went in late June and had beautiful weather for the whole trip.
Logistically, everything was easy. We communicated with Rayna, the owner, directly through WhatsApp, and she was quick, clear, and easy to work with the whole way through. The meeting point was simple to find from where we were staying near Palmar Norte. It’s easy to see why Sierpe Outfitters is one of the highest-rated outfitters in the region. You can tell guest experience is a real priority for them.
We’re already planning to book with them again on a future trip, possibly a full day into Corcovado National Park. Can’t recommend them enough for anyone visiting the Osa area, and ask for Simone and Greivin if you can!
