Great, Little Village That Is Worth The Drive Up The Mountain
Doi Pui Mong Hill Tribe Village的点评
点评:Drove up here, winding our way through the many, many, many winding curves on the mountain road from Chiang Mai to this hilltop village. It was worth every S-curve. Hmong people who live here dress either in traditional clothing for the few tourists who make the trip here, or do so as a matter of custom & culture. We walked through the day market that is situated on multiple levels, up & down a few steps at a time, so it is not for folks with walking & balance issues. We also went to the town's Hmong-owned coffee cafe. Vendors were not pushy, offered samples of such items as cherry wine, rice whiskey, dried fruits & more & we passed several women making embroidered items both by hand & on sewing machines. Homes are small & neat, most with blue roofs, & are built all along the hillside, & greenery & flowers grow everywhere. A sweet sight was when we saw 3 smiling & giggling women in traditional hats, dresses & aprons posing for a photographer in a beautiful, hillside garden.
