Take water, decent walking boots and walking stick

点评：We googled a good place to see golden eagles and this place came up. In maps we were less than 5 minutes away so we decided to give it a go. We parked in the youth hostel carpark and used their toilet before entering the nature reserve.
We wasn’t expecting the walk to be so difficult. It was a challenging terrain and a lot longer walk than we were expecting. We should have done our research. I had left my walking stick in the car and our bottled water.
We finally got to a sign which said viewpoint to the left or way out to the left. We saw someone coming down from the viewpoint and asked them how much further the viewpoint was. We were told at least another 40 minute walk uphill, Double that for me, so we decided to go to the way out. Which was another 40 mins walk but pass two lochs. We didn’t see any birds other than a couple of mallards. We didn’t watch a snake slithering away. We tried to get a photos but too difficult in the grass. It was a nice walk, but would recommend people taking a walking stick especially if have difficulty with mobility or bad knees. Also take bottled water with you. Allow for at least 2-3 hours if you want to go up to the viewpoint too.
