From ballroom gowns to a golden royal carriage

点评：Spread across two floors, the museum features a fascinating variety of objects and artifacts from the history of Sofia. The beautifully displayed furniture is arranged to recreate entire period rooms, including a bedroom, a lounge, and even a room from the Prime Minister's residence.
The exhibition of formal and ballroom attire from the turn of the 20th century is exceptionally interesting and a real treat for fashion lovers.
For me, however, the absolute highlight was the Louis XVI chariot from Versailles, which was used in 1893 for the wedding of Prince Ferdinand I and Princess Maria-Louise. This magnificent horse-drawn carriage occupies an entire room, complemented by period men’s and women’s clothing. The walls all around the room are covered with historic photographs of the royal family, which I also found incredibly fascinating.
Admission to the museum is €5.
