I walked the Frenchman’s Forest Loop (≈ 2.8 miles), which blends paved sections with sandy trails and a boardwalk through swampy areas. The observation platform overlooking a lake is a peaceful spot to pause — I saw turtles, heard birds, and enjoyed the quiet foliage. It feels like you’re stepping off the grid for a bit, even though you’re still close to the city.
The trails are generally easy, though some sandy paths can be soft underfoot. Bring water and bug spray. Remember: there are no restrooms or drinking fountains on site.
